Might as well make some pattern tutorials. The first has a lot to do with my cape I'm making, and since it's so easy to do, you can make one even if you dont have a lot of patternmaking experience. It does help to have a torso block, or a pattern block without the shoulder dart.
This is for a flared cape. To adjust the flare of the cape (more flare), moved the shoulder seam lines at a smaller angle (so they become closer to parallel lines) before you draw the seperating line. For less of a flare, move them father apart (so they become more like a straight line) before you draw the seperating line. You can draw the hem of the cape short (like a capelet) or long, so it sweeps the floor. Comments
Yeah, just remember if you want to make a lining, create a seperate set of patterns for the lining from the cape pattern, but downsize the edges 1/8" so that when sewn together and pressed, the lining will be rolled under the front fabric to create a nice clean edge.

Ooh, I'll use this! -- "One day your knight in shining armor is going to come, and you'll be like "You look like a girl" and he'll be like "you have hot green eyes" and you'll ride off into the sunset together then live happily ever after. ~imperialswineherd Ever patterned a burnoose?

I know it's easy to make but I suck at making patterns and having limited experience sewing makes me really want a pattern. The thing that really makes this garment pop is some really sweet prints and flowy fabrics. So I know it'll look good. I just don't want to fuck up making the damn thing. I wonder if there are patterns online.
