Save the Honey Bees!
If you haven't heard, a combo of mites and diseases (or just one or the other) has led to a drastic drop in honey bee population. Why should you care? Because most of what you eat comes from bee pollination.

This website also recommends growing gardens, which I am going to do (as soon as my landlord opens the damn door in the back), specifically Jasmine.
In other news regarding going green, I have DITCHED the plastic bottle in favor of a Pur Water Pitcher. It is very good, I recommend it, and I actually drink more water now because it's easy to fill up and is fast at filtering and you don't have to keep replacing water bottles in the fridge. It was only $20 too.
First, I'm sure by now all of you are aware of the problems in both China and Burma. If you could please, go to [link] The Red Cross to donate or see how else you can help. Coming from an area that is an Earthquake zone, seeing images of what happened to China is pretty unsettling, especially since scientists keep saying we're due for a "big one".

June: I will be VERY busy. I have 1 commission and work is going to be hell as we meet our first deadline for the 2009 season.
I am not going to Anime Expo.

And bees are excellent! We have let our herb garden go wild the last year or two because of them- anything with a long flower season like Lavender or St. Johns Wart is great around here

One upside however is that while honey bees are having problems, it's not affecting other species. Including, ironically, the Africanized bees spreading through most of the world, which pollinate the same niche of plants as honey bees. Even if the honey bees go...as they will eventually as the altered bees over-run classic honey bee hives as they spread...things won't be much different.
